I just the built the app lol. Holy fuck GPT-5.5 is better than GPT-5, since GPT-5 was not able to build this some months back.

I will pay you if you build a translation app

Disclaimer

I will pay $1000. (I am aware the payment amount is less. Sorry about that. Probably you can find other users besides me who will also pay for this app existing.)

I could probably build this myself if I waste more months on my life, sorry but not willing to do that.

Please build the following:

• iOS mobile app (not a PWA, not a webapp).
• Pass their gatekeeping and list it on app store.
• App Flow
  • User clicks mic button once. (After this, all operation must be hands-free.)
  • Audio input from microphone. (Do VAD, so the user doesn't have to click the screen when there are multiple pauses in the conversation. Do not do near-field or far-field background noise reduction.)
  • Do realtime transcription using Elevenlabs realtime scribe v2.
  • Do realtime translation of committed transcripts (not partial transcripts) using any openai/deepmind/anthropic fast model. (Auto-detect the language, if language A is being input, get translation to language B, if language B is being input, get translation to language A, all without the user having to click the screen.)
  • Show translations on screen.
  • (Do not do the final TTS step that apps like this do.)
• I currently just use the default ios translation app.
  • This does 90% of the job.
  • However they do far field background noise reduction by default, which is a problem when the speaker is far from the mic.
  • Also sometimes there are minor inaccuracies in transcription or translation because they're not using the latest AI models.
  • I do own a higher quality mic, maybe I'll just connect that and test the same translation app.

• I don't think the app mentioned above will fix all translation problems for humanity. But I still think it's an improvement over status quo and want to see it built.
