I am fairly high on protectiveness, for a potential partner

- Yesterday I made a note trying to notice what ways are women different from men, especially in romantic context, excluding sex and intimacy.
- One of the points I mentioned was regarding protectiveness, men are somewhat protective of women by default (in a way they aren't as protective of other men), and women reciprocally tend to appreciate said protectiveness.
- I think protectiveness is one trait of mine I can imagine some women valuing a lot?
- Like, from my point of view, being protective just looks obvious, but when I compare myself to other men I can imagine I am probably at one end of the spectrum.
- Like, I can basically decide to risk my life to protect someone I care about, in a very short span of time. Definitely within a few hours, possibly even within a few minutes.
- My first loyalty is still to myself and my goals, I don't think I've ever loved anyone enough to be willing to die for them. But my second loyalty is to a handful of close people, and I think I am actually willing to go a lot further than most people, in an actual emergency scenario.
- I am very rational about it. I don't get into stupid fights. I have zero interest in male aggression contests and posturing and status-seeking and whatnot. Often the correct move, atleast in actual physical conflicts, is to disengage and move on. But yeah, I think I am more rational than the average person when it comes to life-or-death decisions.
- When I say protectiveness I also don't mean sexual jealousy obviously. I am literally poly, which means (I think) I am okay with my partner having sex with other men. I specifically mean protectiveness in the sense of - if my partner's life / money / loved ones / etc are in immediate danger, how willing I am to invest effort or fight in order to protect those things.
