Visakanv says humour is about a balanced amount of meaning?

I do think something similar to this is probably true: "Humour is a hard-to-fake signal of having resolved internal conflict, hence, for example, many women prioritise it in dating." But also, more generally, a lot of people like funny shows and so on.
I have never in my life been that into humour, or that funny myself. Among a few people I trust and feel safe with, I sometimes crack lame jokes, but that's about it.
Visakanv has a different hypothesis that it is about meaning/purpose? X should mean something to you but not mean so much that you're unable to laugh about it.
I am not sure how to react to this. I don't have enough data. Forget data, I don't even know how to reframe things in a way such that this makes sense.
For instance, yes I don't find it funny that govts use violence against citizens, and I don't find it funny that I am considering some violence in response. This gives me meaning yes, but it isn't fun. Why should it be fun? I don't think people fighting any war considered the war itself fun? Sure, you can have fun with other people you trust, who are fighting the war alongside you. But this does not mean the war itself becomes fun. It just means you need to find people you trust to fight the war with, but also do things with them besides fighting a war. (I am interested in meeting people like this.)
