- I do not have security setup sufficient for this. In particular, if you have leaked information you wish to publish, then either submit it to a server listed on the official SecureDrop server directory, or redact and publish it yourself to ethereum blobdata or similar.
Some security tips for you
Some security-related tips that may or may not be useful for you
- Signal is more secure than Protonmail, as it leaks less metadata.
- Prefer enabling disappearing messages on Signal before sending the first message.
- If you prefer, you can generate a throwaway protonmail address using crypto payment.
- You can mention to me whether I am allowed to share anonymised summaries of our interactions (to other people or publicly), or whether you expect me to not share anything. If you do not mention anything, I might assume I can (with your implicit permission) share anonymised summaries. If I publish anonymised summaries, anonymisation will be sufficient so that a few google or AI searches can't reveal your identity, however a dedicated private or govt investigation may be able to reveal it.
Most of the suggestions below are not suggestions I typically make, but I have received feedback that I should include them anyway, hence I am including them
- If you prefer, you can generate a throwaway Signal username for yourself, using a phone number from hero-sms or similar. If you prefer, you can request me to generate a throwaway Signal username for myself, just for our chat.
- If you prefer, you can also request me to generate a throwaway protonmail address, just for our chat.
- If you prefer, you can request me to delete your chat and contact from my device anytime. There is a significant likelihood I will comply.
How to send me a cold message
How?
Please consider messaging me if you at all believe either you might benefit from it, or I might benefit from it.
- To maximise value you get from me, consider writing a short document about what you'd like to talk about and attach it to the message. Then we can schedule a quick call where I go through your document and provide input to you.
- I find call faster than text for extended conversation.
- Please don't write filler words, just get to the point. Imagine you were messaging me not emailing me, if it helps.
- Just in case I ignore your message, you can get my attention by donating me a tiny amount like $1 and attaching proof in the message.
Why?
- I'm okay being spammed. Worst case I'll ignore your message. It doesn't consume a lot of your time to write me a one para message, so you shouldn't overthink it.
- I don't mind spending one-hour calls with lots of strangers to help them. I expect some fraction of these callers will repay the favour back to me when I need it.
- It does not matter if we've spoken before or not, or if you're approaching in a personal or professional context, or what your message is about, as long it'll add value to me. Even if you're criticising or accusing me for example, it's possible this adds value to my life, and I might appreciate you for the same.
