I like how concisely the frames in the "make a 30 second video collage" post are written. When I prioritise the time investment, I should probably act on this advice and see how it performs.
That being said, somewhere in the back of my mind, Naval's advice is still floating. My current advice to myself is a lot more about competing on normie metrics. Whereas Naval's whole advice is to escape competition between normies by becoming the best in the world at something niche (but not so niche its market is size zero).
In a dating context, what do I offer that I am the best in the world at?
(Or atleast, best in my city at.)
This is a tough question but worth asking.
My first answer is nothing lol. There are things I am outlier on, but not like, world-level outlier on. I am 90 percentile or 95 percentile, not 99.99 percentile on the metrics I think of.
I don't know, the only things that come to my mind are:
I am one of the few people in entire Bangalore working on ASI risk. (And generally, this well informed about all the pathways to technological progress and applying hamming question between them and so on.)
I am one of the few people in entire Bangalore maintaining this authentic a blog.
I have some mix of courage + independence + protectiveness / capacity of violence that is quite rare in Bangalore. Like, mai pagal aadmi hu bhai mai kal parliament me jaake bomb phod sakta hu agar phodna hai toh. Bhagat Singh ftw.
It is not obvious to me how any of these things is valuable in a dating context lol.
I am intelligent in a very specific way. I don't know who values this. Maybe a woman who is also ambitious at a level and in a form similar to me? They might value my perspective on their work.
I am authentic but also a lot of the stuff I am authentic about is stupid shit, it isn't particularly valuable to the world.
Okay so the answer is nothing.
Good to know. Useful thought exercise. Now terminate this line of questioning, and go back to optimising normie metrics as planned. Become a normie you fucker.
