# Reasons I don't have a girlfriend

Seeing other people with their partners reminded me that I want a partner too.

Reasons I don't have a girlfriend:

1. More probably than not, I don't like myself much as a person - Most Important
2. I am not Actually Trying
  - There are levels of Trying far beyond my current level.
  - I clearly don't want an average woman like some of the people I know. I don't want to "adjust" or blunt the edges of my personality in order to be with someone. Apart from finding people sexually attractive, I clearly don't like the average woman, like, at all. I can only form superficial connections with most people, and I obviously don't want to date someone who I can only have that with. I will get bored of such a person eventually, even if I enjoy it at first.
  - If I want extraordinary outcomes, I should put in extraordinary effort. But I am clearly not prioritising putting that much effort. Example of extraordinary effort - host more meetups in Bangalore on some topic that is not directly my interest but proxies for it.
