Main
- In my giant ass "I am looking for cofounder" manifesto, I basically ended up putting morality roughly into the categories of violence and deception.
- Violence includes violating boundaries (liberal consent norms), and actually inflicting suffering on people directly, and resisting authority
- Deception includes telling lies and violating your promises.
- In short, I basically concluded that I am fine with violence and I am not fine with deception.
- I then justified this stance with a bunch of both instrumental and terminal reasons why I value honesty / truth-telling.
- However, on thinking more, I am actually fine with deception on anonymous alts (i.e. phishing, social engineering). I am just not fine with deception on my main account online or by me personally online.
