Morality behind my leaks is different from wikileaks

- I think you can justify violence (greater good justifies some harm) on capitalist terms, on libertarian terms, on anti-capitalist pro-environment terms, on anti-war leftist terms, on anti-Enlightenment terms and so on. All these ideologies are well established so there’s lots of real world examples and lots of people who believe in them.
- The anti-ASI people however do not have a well-defined morality or political ideology. I think utilitarianism is too theoretical and doesn't let you answer political questions in the real world. As long as you are the lesser evil, you can justify unlimited violence with utilitarianism. You cannot actually fit utilitarianism on the political compass (social left/right, economic left/right, political auth/lib).
- I increasingly feel the entire field of moral philosophy is a complete waste. Morality only makes sense when you attach it to a political ideology. And even political ideology only makes sense if you attach to actual sets of people, both powerful and not, living by this ideology in the real world.
- As an example, Dario Amodei has already crossed his self-declared red lines multiple times. He will keep justifying himself as the lesser evil until the literal end of the world. If Altman kills 100M people, he will kill 10M people and call himself lesser evil. I don't want to become a Dario, and hence I want some ideology or red lines decided in advance.
- I think morality is ultimately decided in action not thought.
- When it comes to hackers and leakers, I think the best way to determine someone's morality is their choice of attack targets and redaction policy.
- If you actually go look at what information Assange leaked versus redacted, you realise Assange basically had an anti-US IC anti-war anti-dictatorship anti-surveillance stance. He redacted information about pro-democracy activists (though he still got some people killed). He leaked a lot of information on surveillance infra and zerodays held by the UC IC. He leaked a lot of graphic images of wars started by the UC IC, with no discrimination on which wars were good or bad or democratic or undemocratic or whatever.
- If I just ask myself what my actual political stance is: I don't actually care that much about (non-ASI) dictatorship, although I still care. I don't care that much about (non-ASI) surveillance. I think being anti-war in general is a stupid position to hold, at best I can support that wars should be started democratically instead of by the IC. The primary thing I care about, by far, is preventing ASI from being built in the next 5-10 years.
- I am only contemplating going after the US IC because of my anti-ASI stance, and it so happens that they are helping build it, and protect others who are building it.
- I am also contemplating living in a world with zero privacy for everyone, only because of weapons like ASI and bioweapons and other future weapons. Otherwise I don't even care that much about this idea.
- Maybe I should stick to the stance I actually believe, and not deviate from that?
- As in, I should go leak as much as possible about the US IC, the US AI companies, the US politicians, and all their chains of subcontractors, and besides that redact everything else. Like I said, I don't give a shit about the environment or about surveillance and whatnot.
- I will have to leak move-and-countermove information in real time in the conflict between pro-ASI politicians and anti-ASI politicians
- I don't really give a shit about whether US billionaires and politicians are rapists or whatever. I will leak their information around abuse only if they are pro-ASI, as a way to try and get them in prison.
- I will not attack India/Russia/China/etc for reasons of realpolitik. Not elaborating here, but they should be obvious.
- I will not allow myself to be captured by the nationalist rationalisations of India/China/Russia/etc. If they interfere too much, we dismantle the team and go home, and if the world ends, on our head be it. I am really not convinced that we should tolerate any corruption of our moral values, by these countries' intelligence agencies. If we are actually competent, these people have no leverage. They can't torture us into doing good work. At best they can ask for our unredacted information, which we will give them if requested.
- Okay so that is the red line? There are no limits to how much information I will leak about the pro-ASI people who are actually doing the work, as long as it is the US/UK/EU IC or US/UK/EU politicians or US/UK/EU exec branch or US/UK/EU frontier AI companies, or their chains of subcontractors. I will redact everything about everyone who is not actually building ASI via their actions. I don't care about people's beliefs as much as their actions.
- I will leak information about democratic safeguards being broken, not because I care about democracy intrinsically, but because pro-ASI people breaking democratic safegurards makes it harder for anti-ASI people to seize power.
- I will start by not leaking personal info and only leaking professional info on these people. But if that fails to sufficiently rouse the public, then personal info on these people gets leaked too.
- I will start by leaking information only about leaders not employees of these orgs. But if that fails to sufficiently rouse the public, then info about employees gets leaked too.
- We definitely need some people to do redaction.

- next step is doompilling some blackhats or blackhat-pilling some ASI doomers.
- also need to solve the psychological damage from redaction problem. I've maaaybe solved morality above, but I still need to solve the lack of friends problem. Also, I should not waste too much time on it, hard deadline to send 100 cold emails is still 2026-03-15. Worst case we just suck it up and accept the psychological damage, like people at the ICs or media houses or wikileaks does.
