My views on AI whistleblower initiative (AIWI)

- AIWI is run by Karl Koch and Maximilian Nebl. They have previously received funding from Jan Beckers via GTR Foundation and Jaan Tallin via SFF.
- (I used to previously have a negative opinion of Jaan Tallin's funding, but as of 2026-09, I have softended my stance since Jaan Tallin is also willing to fund Pause AI protests now, indirectly, via FLI.)
- I don't have much legal expertise, and a significant fraction of what they work on currently is legal work. Hence I can't evaluate all their recommendations fully.
- They primarily support whistleblowers who use the legal route to whistleblow from within the same country (typically US or UK, depending on which AI company it is).
- I think this is useful work to do, and am glad someone is doing it.
- Atleast from a brief skim, I haven't found any blatantly incorrect advice on their website.
