By being open to the extent I am about multiple controversial opinions, I am increasingly realising I will find it difficult to become a long-term member of any social graph.
Many social graphs seem to rely on fragile amounts of trust that people are playing various actor roles in order to earn, and being anything but an actor makes you both less effective at climbing and more likely to be kicked out any moment.
So far, I seem to consider this tradeoff worth it. It is worth periodically evaluating however, if at some point I really do want to "lock in" to one specific career path and social graph, such that it makes actually sense to just become an actor in that game and abandon literally everything else of value about my life.
