Python versus JS, for the web

Some reasons JS still beats python, for the web

• python supports async but not well, ES6 supports async well (google put money into writing chromium ES6)
• python JIT is not optimised, js engine v8 optimised JIT (google put money into writing js engine v8)
• web APIs are all written keeping JS in mind (the internet standards bodies seem to increasingly defer to chromium's decisions)
• ?

Chromium is the only major browser right now, and this gives them lots of leverage over governance of the internet.

NodeJS foundation has gone through seem recent governance changes. Worth tracking more closely to see how much Google involvement is there (or not there).
