Naga cuisine
I lived in Kohima, Nagaland for about 6 months. Here's some dishes I liked and disliked. Your taste may differ from mine. I am vegetarian so I couldn't try a lot of their specialty items like smoked pork.
- pumpkin seed pickle - really enjoyed, favourite item
- pumpkin vegetable - nice
- naga king chilly - really enjoyed
- pickle out of something similar to peas, bitter when raw, sour when in pickle. maybe similar or not similar to rajasthani teenth - really enjoyed, one of my favourite items
- soyabean spicy pickle (green colour, not akhuni) - nice
- many different pickles - liked in general
- akhuni (soyabean pickle) - nice once in a while
- akhuni fried rice - nice once in a while
- radish pickle - nice once in a while
- dessert based on job's tear - above average
- bamboo shoot - average
- anishi - I'm not sure if I've tried it
- dried apple - above average once in a while
- veg galho - above average once in a while
