Optimal medication for simple stuff

• It is weird I have reached 25 years of age and still haven't figured out optimal medications for myself.
• Commonly used by people
  • Cough, chest congestion - Dextromethorphan, Diphenhydramine, Ambroxol, Guaifenesin
  • Allergic rhinitis - Cetirizine, Levocetirizine, Fexofenadine
• What I typically use
  • Probably Diphenhydramine ("Benadryl cough formula" in India, benadryl has multiple variants) and Fexofenadine ("Allegra" in India)
• But most importantly, I have not actually A-B tested these against the alternatives. I guess I fall sick infrequently enough that I didn't bother to actually make notes.
